Joseph Stallion - How I Won The War

A surprising beauty emerged from the depths of my view. Joseph Stallion sent this amazing track to me, and in spite of my recent failure to listen, I found it. And it’s everything you’d hope it to be. Buttery vocals, heavy beats, and a sincere motive.

“Robin Egg Blue (Gun Drum Mix) - Cass McCombs

Cass McCombs is happy.  As happy as he gets, probably.  New album Humor Risk is a huge change in sound for Cass, simply based on mood.  His nine minute depressive sprawls are all gone, replaced with simple, clever, comparatively happy songs like this re-imagining from Rostam Batmanglij, who you know from Vampire Weekend. Rostam adds backbeat and piano clinks to what is already an upbeat song for Cass, giving him a rounded sound I’m sure he never expected.  It points to great new music from not only McCombs, but Batmanglij, who is busy working on his own solo project.

Humor Risk is out November 8th, you can find this song as a bonus track on the iTunes version.
